(the company) believes that excellence in the management of health and safety\u00a0is an essential element within its overall business plan \u2013 a good health and safety record goes hand in\u00a0hand with high productivity and quality standards.<br \/>\nPeople are the most important asset to this company and therefore we are totally committed to\u00a0ensuring their health, safety and welfare at all times.<br \/>\nFrom an economic point of view, the company believes that prevention is not only better, but\u00a0cheaper than cure. There is no conflict between humanitarian and commercial consideration. Profits\u00a0and safety are not in competition. On the contrary, safety is good business.<br \/>\nFrom a legal perspective, the company will comply with, and strive to go beyond, its legal duties in\u00a0order to provide a safe and healthy working environment for its employees and others affected by its\u00a0activities. It will take positive action to ensure that other contractor\u2019s employees, occupiers of\u00a0premises and members of the public do not have their health and safety adversely affected by the\u00a0work operations of the company. The only acceptable standard of health and safety, and for welfare\u00a0facilities, will be full and proper compliance with the requirements of legislation.<br \/>\nThe company will seek to ensure that each company with whom it contracts or subcontracts aspires\u00a0to a similar high standard of health and safety management.<br \/>\nOur general intentions are:-<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To fully and effectively provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from\u00a0our work activities, in cooperation with employees, other contractors, clients and other\u00a0relevant parties.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To consult with our employees, and others who work under our control, on matters affecting\u00a0their health and safety to ensure that arrangements are effective and practical to implement.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To ensure that all employees are competent to do their tasks and give them adequate\u00a0training and information.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To provide adequate resources, including sufficient finance, and access to competent health\u00a0and safety advice to achieve the aims of this policy.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To ensure that accident and ill health prevention is provided the highest priority,\u00a0commensurate with business objectives, within all the company operations.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To investigate lapses in health and\/or safety performance and implement any remedial\u00a0actions necessary to prevent their recurrence.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To ensure safe handling, use and storage of substances and equipment and ensure that they\u00a0are appropriate for their intended use.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To maintain safe and healthy places of work.<br \/>\n\uf0d8 To review and revise this policy statement at regular intervals and where necessary due to\u00a0changes in the company\u2019s activities.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ryan and Collins Ltd.
